Our Garden Coordination Programs & Packages

At Ready, Set, Grow! School Garden Network, we believe that every school deserves a thriving, sustainable garden—and the support to keep it growing. Our annual coordination programs are designed to meet schools where they are, offering three tiers of service based on your needs, goals, and budget. From basic seasonal guidance to full-scale garden management and educational support, our flexible packages ensure that your school community can engage meaningfully with garden-based learning all year long.

Thanks to external grant funding, schools are not responsible for garden construction costs, infrastructure enhancements, or major equipment purchases. These expenses will be fully covered by Ready, Set, Grow! through awarded grants, allowing your school to focus its investment solely on the annual coordination program. This means that for one flat annual fee, your school receives year-round support, curriculum-aligned programming, and expert guidance—without the burden of upfront build costs.

What is the School Garden Docent Program?

1

Volunteers

Our program relies on parent and community volunteers to lead students through fun, hands-on garden lessons. No gardening experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a love for helping kids learn outdoors! We provide simple training and ongoing support.

2

Curriculum

Docents follow a seasonal garden curriculum that’s easy to use and tied to grade-level standards. Lessons focus on nature, science, and healthy living, with clear instructions and flexibility for volunteers to make them their own. All supplies will be provided.

3

Time in the Garden

Each class visits the garden about once a month for a 30–45 minute session. Docents stay with one class for the whole year and work with teachers and the school garden coordinator to create a consistent, meaningful garden experience.
